Student Government, Service and Civic Clubs

 

  • Alpha Delta Omega – A group of young ladies seeking to create a stronger bond in the NHS community through academic excellence, scholarship, community service, and to improving the lives of others and oneself in mind, body and spirit. Advisor – Debra Wyatt
  • Close Up – Promoting civic involvement and understanding.  Includes a yearly trip to Washington, D.C. Advisor - Sarah Petty
  • DECA - Distributive Education Clubs of America. Advisor - Susan Dennis
  • FBLA - Future Business Leaders of America. Advisor – Erik Carver
  • FCA – Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Advisor – Ken Brown
  • FCCLA - Family Community Consumer Leaders of America. Advisors – Gloria Knight-McNeil/Andrew Somers/Temperance Tobe
  • Key Club – Community service organization. Advisor – Rachel Dunn
  • Mu Omega Psi - A group of young men that promote brotherhood, academics, community service, and involvement.  They also represent a positive outlook for all males. Advisors - Gloria Knight McNeil, Keith Sumpter, Sherrod Basnight
  • Red Cross - Organizes and holds blood drives, CPR and first aid training. Advisor – Megan Bendson
  • SADD - Students Against Destructive Decisions. Advisor – TBD
  • Student Council - provides a democratic forum where students can address school related topics, maintains communication among students, faculty, parents, and the community. Advisor – Jennifer Whitworth
  • WHO - World Humanitarian Organization - fundraising for/awareness of humanitarian crisis. Advisors – Anne Beatty/Nancy Duffner

  • Band - Advisor – Frank Lapinski
  • Debate Club - Students learn and practice basic debate skills, and participate in competitions. Advisor - Megan Bendson, Sarah Petty
  • Flag Team - Visual aspect of Marching Band.  Perform choreographed routines during half time at Varsity football games. Advisor – Kristen Rydzewski
  • German Club - Advisor – Hugh Maxwell
  • International Club - Advisor – TBD

  • National Honor Society - Advisors – Kay Mabe, Anne Riggs, Nancy Duffner, Pam Adams
  • Polaris – Development of the school Yearbook. Advisor – Rachel Dunn

  • Scientifica - A club of science students that take part in leadership and science activities. Advisor – Josh Roberts
